Student Government/NEHS
Each year students are invited to be part of this group due to showing outstanding academic achievement and demonstrating personal responsibility.  Through NEHS, students will provide meaningful service to our school and community.  They will also develop essential leadership skills!

Bal-A-Vis-X Club

Bal-A-Vis-X club will be held before school from 7:30-7:55 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  Bal-A-Vis-X is a series of 300 Balance / Auditory / Vision Exercises, all of which are deeply rooted in rhythm.  Bal-A-Vis-X enables the body and mind to integrate allowing students to be relaxed and ready for learning.  Active participation in the group and individual exercises will be required.  All students who master the basics will be led on to mentoring another student and sharing the joy and value of Bal-A-Vis-X to others.

Burk Choir
The Bobcat Choir is a great opportunity for your 5th or 6th grader to challenge themselves musically while making great memories! Choir is an extracurricular activity at Burk that typically meets for rehearsals one or two times per week. We prepare choral music, build up our singing skills, and form meaningful friendships along the way. The Bobcat Choir gives your student multiple performance opportunities, including singing for the school and reaching out into the community! The choir is directed by our General Music Teacher, Kadi Weinland. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.

Coding Club

Burk Elementary has implemented an after school Coding Club for interested 5th and 6th grade students! The members of this Coding Club learn simple introductory coding, using Blockly, and then transition into using Javascript or Python for coding online games.  Using online resources, students have also learned to customize characters, as well as create animated scenes!
